Schedule 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Assist teachers with instruction of students in the classroom

Assist teachers as needed (i.e., keeping the students engaged in the learning process)

Assist at rest time hour as assigned

Minimum of (60) sixty college hours. Does not have to be in early childhood or related field

Be familiar with and follow Board of Education policies.

High school graduate or equivalent (GED) and academic competency in basic skills

If no college credit must have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approved WORKKEYS test.

To understand and assist in upholding school rules, policies, and procedures.

To participate in the efficient and effective operation of the school as directed by the principal.

Previous experience with children or learning environment

Valid Texas educational aide certificate (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.

Assist with administration of scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.

Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.

Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.

Experience with students with special needs or individuals with disabilities.

HS Diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.

Experience working with children, preferably students with special needs.

Collaborates with teachers to maintain an effective learning environment through student supervision, behavioral intervention, class management and student discipline.

Experience working in Special Education with students who have severe mental health needs that impact their education

Strong project management skills with ability to lead multiple, complex projects with tight timeframes in a matrixed environment.

Familiarity with Saba/Cornerstone Learning Management System.

Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail.

Experience with remote training using asynchronous meeting tools such as NetMeeting, Webex, or LiveMeeting.

Classroom teaching experience or paraprofessional licensure preferred.

Bachelor's degree required (any field).

Start date: August 22, 2023

Texas Educational Aide Certification must obtain within 10 days of hire

Experience working with elementary age children and knowledge of the learning process preferred

Work with individual students and/or small groups to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher

Attend required continuing professional education courses, implement strategies, and receive in-class coaching with a master teacher (30-hour minimum of professional development)

Support students through the implementation of 504 or Individualized Education Plans (IEP)

Minimum of 48 college hours or passing score on the Para Professional Assessment of Knowledge

1 year of experience in culinary arts, preferred

Graduation from high school or equivalent

Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Instructional Aide for our Culinary

Knowledge of teaching principles, practices and procedures.

Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.

ASU conducts pre-employment screening which may include verification of work history, academic credentials, licenses, and certifications.

The role may require addressing learner challenges and questions within the course shell via Discussion boards.

Assists in teaching technical subject matter in one or more related areas, as coordinated by course Faculty of Record.

Assists in reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of teaching methods and work activities.

Demonstrated skills defined within the content of the position description, including excellent interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills

Experience working with young children preferred

Communicate with I.S. parents regarding upcoming assessments.

Communicate with I.S. core teachers.

Proctor student course, standardized, & exam testing for I.S. students.

Collaborate with College Counselor for AP testing, PSAT/SAT, & ERB planning.
