EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must successfully pass all qualification and requalification exams without restrictions and maintain certification as a PT Level II inspector.

Have a basic knowledge and understanding of the investment casting process as well as the TIG welding process.

Complete all required inspection records, certifications, and originate rework operations to repair castings using a variety of internal forms.

Apply specialized technical or trades knowledge equivalent to 5 years of trade training.

Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the PT method.

Maintain customer approval for all NDT Level 3 activities. Meet requirements as specified in NAS410 for training, education, and experience.

Experience in supporting Training/Certification of personnel in NDT roles

Demonstrated effectiveness in Project Management.

Shall obtained experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Entry level, 0 to 6 months applicable experience

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Two (2) years of documented RT Level I work experience

Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving

Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles and values, etc.

Have a strong knowledge of UT Shearwave inspection of welds to ASME and AWS CODE

Have knowledge and understanding of welding and welding inspection

Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Previous railroad repair experience is preferred but not required.

Minimum 4 years of experience

Knowledge of industry specific tests and test equipment

Conduct Ultrasonic Testing in accordance with written company procedures

Prepare test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment

Process parts per Element procedures and/or specifications

Willing to learn new processes and procedures

Maintain related test equipment and tools in good working condition

Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred

Education: High school education or equivalent is preferred. College degree in technical areas (electronics, engineering, and or science-related fields) is preferred.

Experience: Previous manufacturing experience in inspection, production, and trouble-shooting techniques.

o Must have excellent organization and planning skills and the ability to think ahead and plan.

o Working knowledge of ISO and QS 9000.

o Skillful troubleshooter with analytical mind and strong technical and mechanical aptitude.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Certifies product that is in conformance with customer specifications and maintains traceability to such certification as is applicable.

Meets all requirements to certify in RT, PT and/or MP.

Has demonstrated in depth knowledge of inspections & components to established standards.

2-5 years of NDT experience, preferably in aerospace manufacturing

Meets all requirements to certify as a LVL I or Lvl II Xray CR.

Industrial rope access certification – Preferred

Provides detailed/ accurate written reports of all inspections performed in a timely manner.

Practical knowledge of quality management and quality control inspection systems.

Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.

Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or management to trainees and Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 personnel.

Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control NDT methods.

Maintain NDT equipment and facilities using best management practices. Establish and maintain a robust preventative maintenance program.
