Nature & Purpose of Position

Provides administrative support in assigned functional areas of the Human Resources (HR) Department.

Operates the automated substitute system, including data entry and generating reports.

Experience working with Workday or other Human Resources Information Systems.

Working knowledge of typical human resources procedures.

Experience working in a school setting.

Demonstrated experience delivering quality customer service.

Leads the recruitment and selection of substitute teachers.

Establish and maintain extensive electronic files and gathering material from files as well as other routine reports.

Research employee records to identify and correct problems.

Prepare contracts/employment notifications; ensure they are signed and scanned into the employee's electronic personnel file.

Correspond with applicants, employees, other departments, and outside entities by email or phone.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

2-3 years of experience in Human Resources or benefits administration required.

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

SHRM-CP or PHR certifications a bonus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Approximately 1-3 years of professional experience in an office setting, preferably within a Human Resources Department.

Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills in person, via email and on the telephone.

Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills".

Responds to, addresses and resolves inquiries and tasks via online tickets, phone, fax and email.

Processes employee transactions (i.e., new hires, terminations, job changes) and maintains accurate master data within the HRIS system.

2+ years of experience in HR, preferably in a start-up or tech industry

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Communications, Business, or related field
