Global Logistics Director Jobs

People management and demonstrated ability drive change and coach individuals with varying experience levels

Coach and mentor team of four direct reports (freight buyer, warehouse manager and two planners)

Experience with logistics and warehouse contract negotiation

Experience in the food industry

Negotiate freight and warehouse agreements to drive cost saving measures and to improve quality of delivery

Oversee import operations including drayage and containers getting shipped directly to customers

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management from four-year college or university

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ

Responsible for procurement, inventory control and warehousing of all pre-positioned disaster response supplies

Develop a system whereby pre-positioned relief supplies can be deployed within 48 hours

Investigate new international vendors and global sourcing opportunities

Develop and execute annual RFQs for standard pre-positioned supplies

Manage legal and administrative processes for insurance and custom clearance (from tender phase to execution phase).

Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in the Logistics & Customs and Insurances.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

Demonstrated experience with a transportation management systems (TMS), Trans Atlantic shipping, implementation experience preferred.

BS 5-10 years logistics leadership experience in a global manufacturing organization

Demonstrated experience with SAP logistics transactions.

Experience using Integrated Business Planning to run the business, implementation experience a plus.

Manages daily logistics operations to meet customer service and cost commitments.

Develops and executes a Global Logistics Strategy aligned with the Global SC and the Business strategy

Excellent people management and prior experience in developing high performance team

Experience in SAP is preferred, knowledge of TMS / WMS functionalities is expected

Strong analytical skills with ability to use data to influence and make decisions

Prior experience with developing logistics budgets, and driving plans for cost overruns

Any other professional certifications will be of added advantage

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of fundamental inventory management principles

Manage a robust Reverse Logistics program to maximize inventory value by reconditioning / refurbishment / redeployment / resale / decommissioning

Manage a disciplined warehouse / distribution hub environment

Manage several internal altafiber delivery / inventory locations

Ensure compliance with OSHA and Sarbanes/Oxley requirements

Perform audit review of logistics processes with the management team when necessary

Monitor logistics current events and alert the management team when escalation is needed.

Support special projects when needed as assigned by the management team

Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

Ability to manage logistics related inquiries

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with experience leading teams; ability to coach and empower others and to develop talent

Strong analytical and information technology skills; understanding of new and emerging supply chain management systems

Assess the existing and future requirements of the market unit to deliver optimal, effective and cost-efficient Customer Experience for the unit

4+ years operational experience in all aspects of Supply Chain Operations / Logistics Operations

2+ years operational experience in direct store delivery (DSD), Preferred

Provide direction, leadership, and focus to the market unit’s warehousing, inventory and distribution functions

Driving Asset Recovery management related to defective part returns

Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management)

5+ years of proven experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role

Experience in analysis and reporting in relevant domain

Working knowledge of MS Office, Salesforce, Netsuite or equivalent CRM

Ensuring inventory stocking levels are met across Global depot network

5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a 3PL management role.

Experience with logistics management software is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

Manage the logistics budget and ensure that all expenses are within budgetary limits.

Strong knowledge of global shipping regulations and logistics processes.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Experience with management of international staff and proven track record of driving results through remote management

Seven years of management or executive leadership in a Freight Forwarding or Global Logistics environment

MS Office suite skills and experience (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint)

Experience creating and bringing in house Customs Brokerage

Equivalent industry experience is also accepted
