Work Location: Hybrid remote in Austin, TX 78701

Prepare and manage rate filings, including engaging with legal and regulators as needed, to ensure profitability and compliance of each state

Develop analytical tools to help business effectively manage existing portfolios

Analyze the profitability of the Personal Line Auto book of business

Knowledge of FAS 97 products, particularly UL, is preferred

Previous valuation experience using Polysystems software is preferred

Resourcefulness, organization, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

Work on annual pension actuarial valuations to determine cash and accounting requirements

Support merger and acquisition transactions as they impact corporate benefit programs

Help clients efficiently lead their employee benefits programs from a financial, compliance, and communications perspective

Work with actuarial units, finance teams, and Business units across the organization to understand stakeholder requirements

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP, Statutory, and Tax financial reporting for Group Benefits and Individual A&H blocks of business

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field

5+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products

Highly detailed oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills

Knowledge of state rate & rule filing requirements

At least 10 years of Property Casualty actuarial experience

Experience with insurance data, calculating actuarial adjustments to the data, calculating rate level indications

Knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines of Business

Experience in Reinsurance, Predictive Modeling and Reserving is a PLUS

Develop premium generators and raters

Outstanding organizational and time management skills

Pricing or reserving experience in cyber insurance along with outstanding analytical capabilities

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Moderate property and casualty experience, preferably in pricing

Coding skills in VBA, SQL, R and/or Python

Experience pricing new and emerging risks
