Youth Mental Health First Aid Coordinator

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Valid driver’s license and access to independent and reliable transportation

Applying your leadership skills and expertise to advance several jail-based mental health and competency treatment programs.

Managing a portfolio of contracts with county sheriff departments and state mental health agencies

Leading and mentoring several Executive Directors

Client facing with a wide array of leaders and stakeholders

Ensuring contract deliverables are met or exceeded, and services are provided efficiently and effectively

Consistently maintaining outstanding customer satisfaction and demonstrating high value of Liberty Healthcare’s services

Exhibit good problem solving skills and is solution driven to meet participant and staff needs

Work collaborative with agency Leadership and Health Coordinators teams to ensure quality services are provided that meet federal requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, early childhood education, psychology, or related degree.

Requires five years’ related experience and at least one year of supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Strong organizational, interpersonal & communication skills.

Demonstrate positive leadership in supervising and building strong teams to coordinate mental health/disability services

Previous experience with behavioral healthcare coordination

Intermediate skills in operating Windows-based computer operating programs

Program Communications: Relate to residents in an honest and sincere manner. All communications must be compassionate, clear, and solution focused.

Works closely with the Case Management Team to coordinate medical & mental health services and documentation.

Manage and maintain the record-keeping process to ensure there is an effective filing system in which information is forwarded smoothly.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on transitional youth in care while meeting ORR and Nuevo Camino documentation and reporting requirements.

Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services

Formulate treatment authorization requests to Point Comfort Underwriters for clients.

Serve as the subject matter expert of Point Comfort Underwriters Insurance.

Must have two years of nursing experience.

Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and possess good oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to prepare and conduct in-service educational programs.

As applicable, will be required to demonstrate acceptable knowledge of nursing standards of care for specialty care area

Exercises independent judgment in providing nursing care.

Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.

BSN degree or higher required

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload.

Five (5) years of clinical experience which includes two (2) years in a comparable job position required.

Must possess appropriate certification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.

Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Conducts mental health screenings and assessments based on a review of available records and clinical interviews with inmates.

Documents treatment and evaluation activities in the health care record for each person seen.
