Construction Senior Staff Accountant Jobs

• Responsible for filling out prequalification packages with our customers and reviewing prequalification packages from our vendors.

• Research specific state and local requirements for businesses and contractors to ensure compliance.

• Be experienced in calculating labor and material costs.

Looking for Associates/Bachelors Degree and 2+ years of construction accounting experience.

The accountant reports to the CFO.

• Assist with the implementation of software, including creating workflows and processes to improve efficiency and controls.

Manage and work with the Finance team on capital projects which includes processing and set-up of fixed assets

Strong working knowledge software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software including advanced skills in Excel required

Process and manages daily revenues

Provide accounting information to managers and others within the company; explaining accounting transactions; resolving accounting issues and discrepancies

Manage specific balance sheet accounts by monthly reconciliations, entries and reviews

Five years previous accounting experience required

Basic to intermediate accounting knowledge as demonstrated by a four-year degree in accounting/finance or relevant experience with GAAP accounting

Assist management with year-end audits and tax preparation

Assist management with preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts

A minimum of two years of corporate General Ledger experience.

Moderate experience in cost and/or construction accounting a plus

Working knowledge of Timberline/Sage software

College degree in Accounting or Finance

3-5 years of relevant accounting experience in a business environment

Perform all day-to-day accounting activities for the company.

Prepare and distribute accurate financial reports.

Recommend, document, and assist with implementation of work procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies.

Month-end close and financial report preparation

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Four to five years or more of related manufacturing experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with QuickBooks and Epicor a plus

Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Excel a must.

Works to manage the Capital Leases and sets up the schedules.

At least 3 years experience in public accounting

CCH Axcess software experience a plus, but not required

Ability to manage time and priorities with punctual completion

Eager to expand knowledge base

Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 per year for full-time (commensurate with experience)

Prepare advanced level tax returns and related workpapers

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Viewpoint, or similar).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
