Zoning And Codes Inspector Jobs

Assists with program implementation, coordination, enforcement, and education duties

Thorough knowledge of city nuisance codes and enforcement actions

Good oral and written communication skills

Encourage voluntary compliance with codes and voluntary resolution of violations and conflicts

Prepares legal documentation for prosecution of violators in municipal or district court

Serves as liaison between citizens and other city departments, presenting citizen views and opinions to city staff

Conduct research and communicate findings with applicants, citizens, staff and management.

Has knowledge and understanding of planning and zoning current best practices, trends, laws, and issues.

Possess and maintain a State of Florida Fire Safety Inspector I Certification.

Have thorough knowledge of regulatory codes and ordinances with respect to fire prevention safety standards.

Be skilled in the use of a personal computer for conducting correspondence, writing reports, and entering data.

Have considerable knowledge of arson detection and criminal investigation.

Have some knowledge of the geography and layout of the City.

Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.

· Experience working in the field; experience reading site plans and engineering drawings

· Must have a valid NC Driver’s License

· Possession of CZO (Certified Zoning Official) preferred

$2,000.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after completion of 90 days.
