Works in remote areas, removing logs, debris, trimming brush, repairing short sections of trail and installing water dips.

Confirm scheduling and housing arrangements with Land Manager;

Knowledge of motorized trail maintenance.

Knowledge of motorcycle maintenance and the ability to make field repairs.

Riding a motorcycle laden with 50lb of additional weight over challenging terrain;

The minimum qualifications for Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities are the following:

Coursework in natural resources management, forestry, environmental science, or a related field.

Use of various hand and power tools to perform resource management, general maintenance, basic carpentry, and plumbing.

Six months of maintenance and public contact experience.

Four months or more experience in a park environment.

As first responders, Ranger duties and responsibilities include:

Responsible for the Sheriff's Work Furlough program on weekends.

Provides first aid for minor accidents and is familiar with water rescue operations.

Ensures the steady flow of traffic by enforcing all parking regulations.

The minimum qualifications for Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities are the following:

Natural resources management and natural history.

College level coursework in natural resources management, forestry, environmental science, or a related field.

Learns the natural history of the area and applies this knowledge when performing park maintenance, operations, interpretive and protection duties.

The equivalent of one year of public contact experience interpreting rules and regulations and some experience performing parks maintenance tasks.

An Associate degree in environmental studies, forestry or a related field may substitute for six months of the required experience.
