Wireless Network Architect Jobs

Advise IT management and senior leadership on recommended improvements to the current infrastructure

Recommending solutions to improve new and existing network architecture and making recommendations for advancing the capabilities at the NIA

Experience designing and implementing solutions in multiple cloud provider IaaS environments (AWS)

Experience administering cloud firewall resources (AWS)

Experience creating and maintaining cloud express routes, cloud direct connections, cloud application gateways, cloud network interfaces

Experience installing, configuring, and administering Cisco and Extreme Networks switching and routing devices and appliances

Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory, GPO's, Certificate Services, and password/identity management systems.

Assist in management and support of internal and external DNS systems, internal DHCP architecture and scoping.

Perform Microsoft server maintenance, upgrades, and apply configuration and security standards/policies within a defined Change Management process.

Monitor and manage network/server security and performance in SolarWinds and other automated tools.

Work with stakeholders and other technical teams to collect business and technical requirements and design/deliver enterprise level solutions.

15+ years of experience in IT support and networking

Perform monitoring and maintenance of the overall environment working with experienced team members.

Communicate with peers and managers regarding system issues & participate in 24x7 on-call.

Hand on Experience of working on Cisco, Arista and ArubaWirelessTechnologies

Experience with AWS and Azure. In-depth knowledge of networking within and between cloud environments.

Verifies conformance of the design to specification requirements and the established baseline.

Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership capabilities

Bachelor's Degree in computer information technology, systems engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience is accepted

Certifications not required, but encouraged: CCNP, CCIE, or other Expert level networking certifications

5+ years of network architecture experience for a large-scale, preferably global, company

Highly effective Organization and Time Management Skills.

Manage complex and multi-disciplinary projects within area of specialization and across Functional Groups.

VPN/Remote access design and implementation with appropriate cyber-security.

Cyber security with vulnerability/penetration experience

Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business or in lieu of degree 11 years of IT experience

High effective Verbal, Written and Documentation Skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to troubleshoot remotely.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.

Knowledge of VeloCloud or Cradlepoint a plus

Knowledge of Fortinet equipment a plus

Knowledge of Azure networking concepts a plus

Experience with WAN acceleration, remote access, and site to site VPN

Experience with the networking capabilities of Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon AWS including ExpressRoute and/or Direct Connect

Three to five years experience in Network Infrastructure architecture and implementation

Current Cisco certifications is a plus - CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, or others

Experience that emphasizes L2-L7 Networking (switching architectures including Spanning Tree, IP routing, OSPF, BGP, L4-L7 load balancing)

Experience designing highly available and redundant core switching and datacenter networks

Experience in Network Management and Monitoring software (specific experience with Airwave and VM Ware Edge Intelligence)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Significant demonstrated experience and working knowledge with 802.11 wireless technologies

Experience in wireless site design including requirements gathering, translating business requirements to technical requirements, predictive modeling, and site surveys

Experience and working knowledge with Enterasys, Cisco, Extreme and Arista

Experience with higher education networks

Expert network technology knowledge with experience designing large cloud and on-prem solutions

Assist with business case development and presentation to management in support of new technology initiatives

Extensive understanding and experience in networking

Enterprise Design Patterns - experience with leading cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure

Partner with architects, engineers, and project teams to assess requirements and recommend solutions.

Advanced WAN/LAN network troubleshooting skills including packet and performance analysis

Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering

Network Industry Certification preferred (e.g. CWNA, CCIE (R&S, Wireless), JNCIE)

You possess a minimum of 5+ of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Campus, and WIFI solutions

Expert level experience with 802.11, routing and switching including L2/L3 protocols

You possess expert level experience in design and deployment of Wireless network solutions including Access Points, and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC)

Demonstrated work experience as either a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE or Network Consulting Engineer preferred
