Welder Trainee Jobs

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Must be able to pass multiple welder qualification tests during the Caterpillar provided training

Ability to gain welder certification upon completion of classroom and hands on weld school training

One (1) to three (3) years of GMAW welding experience

Technical school or equal educational background in mechanical or similar discipline

Experience using GMAW with 0.045” or larger wire

Welders will fit, weld, and clean certain production parts that have been chosen by management for this training.

Welders that show an advanced skill set will have the opportunity to advance through the training at a quicker pace.

Previous welding experience and/or 6 months prior training.

Welders will receive instruction on how to keep a clean and orderly workstation that will help them be highly productive.

Welders will perform fillet welds (single and multi-pass), groove welds, oxyfuel cutting, and blueprint reading daily.

The fitter test will include reading a blueprint to fit, oxyfuel cut holes, and weld a predesigned test piece.
