Water Service Specialist Jobs

Records management program development and implementation;

Review and contact customers who have high water use and or possible leaks. Walk through/offer assistance with leak detection process.

Develops and reviews educational programs; coordinates, schedules and attends water conservation workshops.

Standard office equipment including the computer and programs relevant to the performance of applicable duties and responsibilities;

Compiling data, using analytical and critical thinking skills;

Employee assistance program; offers confidential individual/family, marriage, legal and financial counseling

Serve as a resource to the community and government organizations regarding water management and conservation programs.

Computerized record keeping and data management

Develop, monitor and coordinate conservation programs specific to the needs of the water service area; perform community education and outreach activities.

Represent the City at local, regional and state conservation activities and committees.

This is a Houston of Public

Department position at the Tiers I & II Level.

Receives direction from the Water Services Quality Coordinator and other supervisory and management staff.

Monitors monthly usage data and notifies customers of excess usage

Represent the City at professional and industry group meetings

May provide lead direction to part-time water conservation staff

Assisting clients and management in proactive planning for necessary repairs and maintenance.

Conduct routine inspections of water treatment plants, distribution systems, wastewater treatment plants, and/or collection systems.

Collecting Wastewater and Water samples for analysis and delivering them to analytical laboratories.

Reading water meters and recording readings on provided forms or web-based documentation systems.

Responding to emergencies, such as leaks or power outages, to ensure continuous facility operation and safety for customers and the environment.

Coordinating Wastewater and Water system shutdowns with other staff and/or vendors for repairs or routine maintenance/upgrades.

Develop training materials to meet the needs of water operators and managers in Indiana

Research, prioritize, and follow up on current requirements specified by state agencies regarding water compliance, funding, and assistance programs

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with utilities, operators/owners, and state agencies

Work from home on days not traveling

This position willrequire travel on a routine basisto carry out job duties

Roles and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

Salary range \$22.35 - \$26.70 Hourly
