Ability to verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors, and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
Recognize materials used to construct, fabricate, modify and secure steel bars and mesh using various fasteners.
Pull, push, or pry iron and steel equipment into place.
Assist Journeyman with cutting, bending, and welding iron and steel pieces using metal shears and welding equipment.
Prepares and aligns structures by positioning steel girders, bolting or other permanent set up.
Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes.
