Participates in training sessions and attends classes in firefighting, hazardous materials, rescue, emergency medical treatment, and related subjects.

Responds to calls for emergency services, prepared to perform life saving techniques and other on- site care of victims if required.

Responds to emergency calls for drowning, various rescue situations, accidents and natural or other catastrophes.

Obey and comply with City Ordinances and policies.

Performs the skills required for EMS services at the scene of accidents and medical emergencies

Do not currently possess a Firefighter I or Firefighter II certification OR

Only possess a current Firefighter I and/or Firefighter II certification OR

FIRE I AND FIRE II CERTIFICATIONS OR ONLY POSSESS A CURRENT EMT or PARAMEDIC LICENSE.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

do not currently possess a Firefighter I or Firefighter II certification OR

EMT certification or proof of attendance attachment required, see below under minimum qualifications.

Enters inspection, training and fire and emergency medical reports into the different records management systems.

. EMT certification must be obtained prior to receiving a final offer of employment.

School visits and community education.

Acquires and retains a thorough knowledge of the City, including streets, buildings, water supply, unusual hazards and related items.

Performs various public information or education tasks.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a career or volunteer firefighter

4 years or more of experience as a career or volunteer firefighter
