The Utility Locator Grade 1 is responsible for locating and marking underground utilities such as gas, water, sewer, electric, and telecommunications lines. They use a variety of tools and techniques to accurately identify and mark the location of these utilities. This includes using ground penetrating radar, electromagnetic locators, and other specialized equipment to locate and mark the utilities. The Utility Locator Grade 1 is also responsible for providing detailed reports of their findings to the appropriate personnel.

• Knowledge of underground utility locating techniques and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret maps and plans
• Ability to accurately identify and mark the location of underground utilities
