Urgent Need Registered Nurse Jobs in Iowa

Vocational diploma/nursing diploma minimum requirement or Associate's degree preferred.

Over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Registered Nurse in PA – licensed, upon hire, required.

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) upon hire preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.

Facilitates staff education activities (i.e. orientation, competency, skill reviews, mandatory in-servicing).

Assists with management functions on unit.

Demonstrates knowledge of procedure done in this area and is able to assist physician as indicated.

Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs.

Manages daily operations within budget parameters.

Experience in occupational medicine and urgent care is preferred.

Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.

High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred and is required for some specialties.

Urgent Care, or Emergency Department registered nurse experience within the last three (3) years

Analyzes reports and records data.

Uses data to identify health care problems and create plan.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis:

Perform safe medication administration, isolation precautions, aseptic and sterile technique and other clinical skills frequently used.

Keeps ill patients comfortable until seen by a Provider.

Assists providers in healthcare activities, performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.

Administration of medications, starting & monitoring IV fluids & IV medications.

Assists with stocking the examining room and special treatment rooms with needed supplies.

Conducts patient screening for hearing, sight, blood pressure and other simple routine procedures. Collects specimens and delivers them to the laboratory.
