Overview Telecom Lineman Apprentices are responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment. They work under the supervision of experienced linemen to learn the trade and gain experience. Detailed Job Description Telecom Lineman Apprentices are responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems and equipment. They work under the supervision of experienced linemen to learn the trade and gain experience. Duties include helping to install, maintain, and repair telephone poles, lines, cables, and other equipment; helping to install and maintain fiber optic cables; and helping to install and maintain telephone systems. They may also be responsible for helping to troubleshoot and repair problems with telecommunications systems and equipment.
