Detailed Job Description Surgical Technicians are responsible for preparing the operating room for surgery, including setting up the sterile field, instruments, and equipment. They also assist in the transfer of the patient to the operating room, and help the surgeon and other medical personnel during the procedure. During the surgery, they may be responsible for passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, as well as helping to maintain the sterile field. After the surgery, they may help to clean and restock the operating room, and help to transfer the patient to the recovery room.
