Reports to the building principal or school office manager upon arrival at the school building.

Must have 60 hours of secondary education

Reviews with the principal, department head, or team leader all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.

Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.

Teaches the lesson outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher’s guide as prepared by the absent teacher.

Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods.

Must meet Arkansas certification requirements.

This position ranges from $55,470 to $73,470 based on relevant education and experience.

Develop and maintain a relationship with teacher training, teacher placement agencies, and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Assist with the placement of student observations/internship programs and other activities involving other educational agencies.

Support novice teachers with state testing requirements and professional development requirements needed for licensure.

Know Board of Education policies, District and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to the same.
