Overview A Substitute is a person who is hired to temporarily fill in for an absent employee. They may be hired to fill in for a teacher, a nurse, a custodian, or any other position. Substitutes are typically hired on an as-needed basis and may be asked to work for a few hours or a few days. Detailed Job Description A Substitute is responsible for providing temporary coverage for an absent employee. They must be able to quickly learn the job duties of the position they are filling in for and be able to perform them with minimal supervision. They must also be able to work with a variety of people and be able to handle any situation that may arise. Job Skills Required
