Staffing Medical Health Technician Jobs

Performs equipment inventory to verify quantities on hand in the department and on the units.

Delivers clean equipment and picks up dirty equipment as needed and as directed.

Orders patient specific rental equipment (i.e. wound vacs).

Assists in various projects involving the department.

Meets minimum department productivity standards.

Understands customer needs and expectations and performs appropriate customer service.

Sort incoming documents sent to the department and prepare for scanning.

Scan compliant requests to third party copy service vendor and assist walk-in patients with record requests.

Answer phone requests for confidential patient information and advise patients of appropriate release procedures.

Process requests through current copy service or complete as appropriate.

Review all records requested to determine the documents necessary for an appropriate response.

Answer telephone, assist callers and provide routine information in accordance with established standards, including taking messages.

May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

May be required to handle aggressive patients using Client Management methods.

In lieu of vocational training, must have one year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician or Residential Treatment/Group Home worker, OR,

A UAP with Psychiatric experience.

Must be able to demonstrate basic patient care skills and the use of supplies and assigned equipment.

Must have Psychiatric Technician vocational training through a recognized organization, OR,

Six months of practical experience in a behavioral health or educational setting preferred

Provides one-on-one support, as needed, to patients with a variety of behavioral health needs.

Closely monitors and maintains the safety of patients. Observe behaviors and conditions in accordance with established procedures and protocols.

In conjunction with Registered Nurse, conducts environmental checks and helps identifies risk factors.

Aids with the implementation of safety measures, such as physical restraints, observation levels, and suicide watches, as warranted.

Identifies patient behaviors that could lead to behavioral escalation and utilizes non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate situations.

Supports patient participation in the educational, recreational and therapeutic activities as defined in the patient’s individualized treatment plan.

Licensure, certification, or registration, as required by state law/regulation and as required by the contracting employer.

Meets other state specific requirements as applicable.

Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

Administers medications as permitted by state law or regulation, and in accordance with the contracting employer’s policies and procedures.

Leads or facilitates group sessions as deemed qualified and assigned, in accordance with the contracting employer’s policies and procedures.
