Detailed Job Description The primary responsibility of a shipping and receiving clerk is to receive, inspect, and store incoming goods and materials. This includes verifying the accuracy of shipments, unloading and unpacking items, and organizing them in the appropriate storage areas. The clerk is also responsible for preparing and packing outgoing shipments, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and documented. Additionally, the clerk may be responsible for maintaining records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as tracking inventory levels and ordering new supplies when necessary. Skill Requirements Shipping and receiving clerks must have excellent organizational and communication skills. They must be able to accurately document and track shipments, as well as be able to communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
