Senior Natural Resources Scientist Jobs

7+ years of experience presenting data insights & recommendations to key stakeholders in a corporate setting

Experience integrating machine learning applications to production, with big data concepts and deep learning frameworks.

Ability to obtain or existing secret clearance with the US government.

Basic knowledge of Section 404, 401 and Section 10 permitting requirements.

Assist with data entry and analyzing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data.

Prior internship or experience related to wetland delineations preferred.

Basic knowledge of wetlands and aquatic resources.

Basic knowledge of the regulatory agencies that govern wetland resources.

Basic knowledge of erosion control and site restoration practices.

Strong technical knowledge of statistics, machine learning, natural language processing and state-of-the-art deep learning literature

Proven experience with natural language processing, including textual data processing, training and evaluating masked and causal LLMs, and dialogue models

Strong computer science fundamentals, problem solving skills, programming (Python, C, C++)

PhD in a related technical field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, machine learning or equivalent years of experience

Experience with large scale language models, multimodal personalization methods

Experience with large-scale data collection and annotation best practices

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field and 12 years experience.

Great communication skills, able to explain language model results to a non-technical audience

Experience programming machine learning algorithms for GPUs

Working knowledge of Word2Vec, NLTK, BERT, and ChatGPT

Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, tools and platforms

Understanding of transformers and foundation models

Experience in developing and implementing algorithms for text analysis, classification, and information extraction

Excellent programming skills in Python or another relevant language

Performs other job duties as assigned

Record of publications in top-tier conferences and journals

Implements pest control measures in accordance with the City's Integrated Pest Management Program (Chapter 39 of the San Francisco Administrative Code).
