Senior Grant Writer Jobs in Washington

Manage and grow a significant portfolio of high-dollar general operating support grants as well as select project-specific grants

Hybrid work schedule, requiring three days in-office each week; four fully remote weeks a year

Work from home equipment reimbursement

Draft, revise, and produce high-quality proposals and reports for foundations

Identify and follow through on new foundation support

Identify top growth prospects; develop and execute a strategy to increase donor support

Work with Executive Director, management team, and CFO o gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on grant-funded programs.

Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.

Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.

Knowledge of fundraising information sources.

Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.

Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.

Establishes and maintains exemplary knowledge of the Graduate School’s programs and supports the Graduate School’s funded research goals;

Excellent research and presentation skills;

Excellent technology skills, including graphic design and layout skills;

Aware of development trends in higher education and proficient with reaching funding goals;

Minimum of 3 years of grant writing experience with demonstrated (and verifiable) success at securing grant awards

Experience with fundraising and development beyond grant writing
