Senior Archivist Jobs in Virginia

Experience working with digital materials and content management platforms (ArchivesSpace, BePress, Preservica, etc.)

May supervise departmental student employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, project management, and support paperwork

Strong research skills in working with historical and archival materials, involving locating and evaluating relevant materials

Experience in classroom instruction and community engagement with archival and rare book materials

Interest in or experience with promoting archival collections and historical content via exhibits, social media, blogs, etc.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Combination of Education and Experience:

Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.

As a remote positions, you will be required to work the core hours of the WASO office, East coast time.

College transcripts, if qualifying based on education.

Review package to acknowledge your documents were reviewed.

Experience working with archival or institutional records in a research library, higher education, or records management setting.

Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience using ArchivesSpace or similar archival management software.

Experience working with born-digital material and preservation of digital formats.

Demonstrated experience arranging and describing analog, digital, and/or hybrid archival collections and managing legacy electronic records and born-digital materials.

Experience collaborating and working with campus and community groups.
