Forklift and Other DC Equipment Experience/Certification

High School Graduate or Equivalent Certification

Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate various facility machinery and equipment.

Accurately checks and verifies all loads

Keeps equipment and work area clean and organized at all times

Comply with Bell Nursery policies and procedures

Plant crops, trees, shrubbery or other plants

Thin, weed, and move plants as directed

Harvest plants, and transplant or pot and label them

Able to work effectively on a team and/or independently

Able to work in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness

Operate harvest-related equipment safely, as directed by team leader or foreman

Scrub pumps, fittings and miscellaneous equipment parts as needed

Sweep or rake winery floors, grounds and dispose of all trash and place in the proper disposal area

Operate cleaning equipment and tools to clean cellar floors, walls, tank pads, outside and inside of tanks, and walkways

Manipulate tank lids to ensure proper opening and closing of tank tops for cellar operations

Must be 18 or older at time of hire

Work cooperatively on a team of 3 or 4 following the pace and instruction of a team lead

Harvest minitubers accurately to size at a steady pace to ensure harvest completion

Remove yellowing or dead leaves from plants being harvested

Handle plants carefully to avoid damage

Weigh tubers in preparation for storage

Accurately record plant variety and tub weight

Education and/or Work Experience requirements

Assist with maintaining plant health by executing tasks directed by production management.

Work well within a team structure by using effective communication skills and following instructions.

Prior experience in a greenhouse or agriculture environment preferred.

Assist in the supervision of sowing seeds, sticking of unrooted cuttings, and transplanting plant materiel into finished containers.

Must have specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and color vision

Entry level – no previous experience required. Factory, repetitive motion, greenhouse, or labor experience preferred.

Workers must meet the below basic minimum requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work with plants, moving, planting, pinching, spacing, hanging baskets, putting trays/containers on benches, transplanting plugs, etc.

Pull and process orders for collation in accordance to TGE procedures

Load trucks according to invoices and routing
