Scientific Communications Specialist Jobs

Advanced oral and written communication skills

Ability to acquire and apply specialized therapy area knowledge rapidly

8-12 years prior experience and 2+ years of Hematology experience within a medical communications agency environment

Good breadth of therapy area knowledge

Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building competency

Ability to successfully manage assignments on time with high quality

Manage the departmental scientific publication repository using reference management software (e.g., EndNote) 10%

Proven knowledge and understanding in the development of scientific/medical conference proceedings and manuscript publication

Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills

Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

Moderate knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures and guidelines

Moderate knowledge of current developments, clinical literature, and therapy area

Collaborate with Publications Management Team specialists to manage publication vendors, budgets, and operational activities as needed

Minimum 6 years experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector with 3+ years experience in Medical Affairs/Scientific Publications/Medical Communications

Represent a function within a matrix organization through a strong track record of excellent presentation, customer facing, and interpersonal skills

Experience with scientific peer-reviewed publications, global medical communications, and industry publication best practices

Strong organizational skills to track numerous tasks for multiple simultaneous projects in a deadline-oriented environment

Direct external vendors and manage budgets, timelines, and quality of deliverables

Strong interest in or experience with driving publication and med com materials success to enable a successful product launch

Strong scientific knowledge and attention to detail, with a desire to deliver high quality

Managing one or more vendor partnerships to drive execution of publications and medical communications deliverables.

Providing scientific communication input and review of corporate materials

Representing the Scientific Communications function in your regular interactions with external opinion leaders, professional societies, and vendors

Highly proactive, organized, and driven to deliver for the Sickle Cell medical team

Multitasking and time management skills

Program management of awarded programs programs.

Excellent writing and communication skills

Significant knowledge of funder rules and regulations

Minimum 5 years of fundraising, grant writing, and other technical writing experience.

Proficiency in certification standard such as IEC 60601
