Selects, requisitions, and uses a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students

Maintains effective classroom management, recognizes and addresses learning and behavior

Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; Attends workshops, seminars

Embraces diversity in the school community and in the world by demonstrating knowledge

Adapts teaching for the benefit of students with special needs by collaborating with

· Communicate with other staff (exceptional education, LIEP, gifted, etc.) to support learning for all students

A minimum of three years of teaching experience required

· Coordinate and train school-based reading facilitators

· Use expertise as a reading specialist to deliver small group instruction, as needed

· Collaborate with division literacy coaches and the ELA specialist, including attending monthly literacy team meetings

· Assist with the creation of family engagement events and school-wide initiatives that promote literacy
