Contacts necessary insurance companies for benefit verification and pre-certification of therapy procedures; notifies coding staff for missing, or inaccurate coded services.

Proficient computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Epic HER, and E-mail.

Supplies all documentation required during pre-certification process to insurance companies.

Maintains written log of all pre-certifications in process.

Documents and notifies necessary parties of pre-certification when received.

Must possess good organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve simple and complex problems and handle stressful situations.

Assume responsibility for self-development by continually striving to improve his/her health care knowledge through educational programs, attendance at workshops and conferences.

Confirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Supervisor/ Clinical Manager in order to coordinate Agency visits.

At least 1-year previous experience in community/home health agency.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to conduct effective presentations.

Must have CPR certification. Online certification is not accepted.

Under the direction of a Registered Physical Therapist (PT), provide patient services, which have been delegated by the PT.

Education: The Physical Therapist Assistant shall have a minimum of an Associate degree.

Experience: Physical Therapist Assistant may be entry level.

Certifications: American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support

Education: Applicants must meet at least one of the requirements below:

Graduate of military physical therapy assistant programs that meet the educational requirement and have successfully passed the NPTE for PTAs.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Evidence of ongoing continuing education in clinical areas.

Supervises patient exercise programs on Cybex equipment, isotonic and aerobic equipment.

Writes daily progress notes and when necessary, progress notes to the physicians.

Health, Dental, and Vision insurance

Associate Degree Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school with an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.

Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of North Carolina.
