Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal tax issues, auditing and accounting theories and principles.

Experience performing complex, specialized audits.

Experience justifying and defending audit findings.

Perform complex and specialized audits

Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of education and relevant work experience

Apply critical thinking skills to compare payments to client contracts

Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan.

At least 2 years of auditing experience (retail a plus) required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Solve problems by identifying errors and over-payments for our retail clients

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Thorough knowledge of the Department’s Integrated Tax Administration System.

Thorough knowledge of the taxation and enforcement provisions of the revenue laws and administrative review regulations relating to all tax schedules.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, including Excel and Word.

Ability to analyze highly complex collection scenarios then recommend or perform the most effective and efficient solution.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.

Working knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.

Working knowledge and understanding of medical documentation and ability to read and review.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other job-related field

Required Work Experience: No previous work experience required.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of auditing.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels.

Thorough knowledge of the Department’s assessment process including the ability to determine or adjust a taxpayer’s liability.

Thorough knowledge of the Administrative Review process for proposed assessments, proposed refund denials, and proposed revocations.

Sound decision-making skills and the willingness to assume responsibility for the consequences of these decisions.
