Knowledge of clinic referral and scheduling processes and billing/authorization requirements.

Knowledge of federal and state pay requirements, including Medicare, DSHS, HMO/PPO Contracts.

Gather, verify, and process orders for test, referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications by working closely with physician(s), patients, and payers.

2 years of progressively responsible related experience in a healthcare office environment specializing in the referral process is preferred.

Experience in AEHR and PPMS systems is preferred.

Communicate detailed information and answers patients' questions regarding their health care plan; provide answers to billing and insurance clarification questions.

Process and track patient referrals for all departments for timely transfer of patients and records.

Receive and review individual productivity reports to self monitor and improve performance if required.

Identify and route patient appointment information to the correct recipient via computer database and/or telephone calls.

May assist in monitoring electronic faxing referral authorization requests and EMR in basket messages to address messages for authorizations.

Possess excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of management

Good time management skills and are able to work in a fast-paced environment

Monitor multiple e-referral systems to identify new referrals and manage alerts and notifications.

Monitor email continuously for request to pull referrals from all applicable referral systems. Perform timely follow-up and manage all related communication.

Daily manage and update ERST log with all referrals and ROCs decisions.
