Overview Probation Counselor I is a professional who provides counseling services to individuals on probation or parole. They work with individuals to help them understand the terms of their probation or parole and to develop plans for successful reintegration into society. They also provide guidance and support to individuals to help them stay on track and meet their goals. Detailed Job Description Probation Counselor I is responsible for providing counseling services to individuals on probation or parole. They assess the individual’s needs and develop a plan of action to help them meet their goals. They provide guidance and support to individuals to help them stay on track and meet their goals. They also monitor the individual’s progress and provide feedback to the court or parole board. They may also provide referrals to other services such as job training, substance abuse treatment, or mental health services. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of the criminal justice system
