Acquire information and knowledge in current practice related to dialysis principals and technique by participating in scheduled in-service classes.

One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.

ICU experience preferred but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A minimum of three years of experience in clinical nursing practice preferred. Evidence of current expertise in nursing education.

Strength (gross motor skills) and endurance are sufficient to safely fulfill clinical responsibilities.

Fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination are sufficient to safely fulfill clinical responsibilities.

Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the health care provider level required from American Heart Association

Interpersonal abilities are sufficient to interact purposefully and effectively with others.

Excellent organizational skills and classroom/online management skills

Prior experience teaching in higher education

Ability to work with adult learners of varying ages, and skills level

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse prior to employment as instructor

Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.

Answers telephone. Unit clerk responsibilities with supervision.

An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

This position is temporary part time.

Clinical Patient Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation.

Collaborates with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.

Partners with the healthcare team by following established plan of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.

Support plans to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

Previous experience in higher learning education preferred.

Designs and delivers course material based on the graduate philosophy, course description, course outcomes, and program outcomes.

Translates learning material to online, hybrid, and synchronized classes.

Collaborate with HSC Executive Director for reservation of Practical Nurse Program simulation learning experiences.

Maintain compliance of confidentiality requirements.

Minimum 2-years' experience as a Practical Nurse Program, Associate or Baccalaureate Degree program professor.

Primary areas of instruction practical nurse program specialty areas and clinical assignments.

Scholarship to include clinical practice, attendance at professional meetings and participation in Practical Nurse Program faculty committees.

University service to include community activities, mentoring, attendance, and support for university events.
