Overview A Pharmacy Technician in Training is a healthcare professional who assists pharmacists in providing medication and other health care products to patients. They are responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining records, and providing customer service. Detailed Job Description The Pharmacy Technician in Training is responsible for providing support to the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications. This includes counting, measuring, and pouring medications, labeling and filling prescriptions, and maintaining records. They must also provide customer service, answer questions, and provide information about medications and other health care products. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to accurately measure and count medications
• Ability to accurately read and interpret prescriptions
• Ability to use computer systems and software

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program
• Certification from a recognized pharmacy technician program
• Current registration with the state board of pharmacy
• Ability to pass a background check
