Overview Per Diem Nurse is a type of nurse who works on a per diem basis, meaning they are hired to work on an as-needed basis. Per Diem Nurses are responsible for providing quality patient care and ensuring that all medical protocols are followed. Detailed Job Description Per Diem Nurses are responsible for providing quality patient care in a variety of settings. They must be able to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and provide direct patient care. They must also be able to monitor patient progress, document patient care, and provide patient education. Per Diem Nurses must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
