Per Diem Cook Jobs

1-2 years’ experience in OB

Imaging experience in a hospital or clinic setting

Knowledge of patient focused care delivery

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

RDCS or RCS, and RVT or RVS

Cooking background in a long-term care facility and/or Culinary Education is preferred but not required

Knowledge of food sanitation and batch cooking

Anyone with professional cooking experience can apply

As assigned, prepares and cooks, from recipes, large quantities of food and menu items.

Assists in the organization of the kitchen for the proper preparation of food.

Participates in breakfast, lunch, receptions, dinner and/or catered events.

Work well with employees & managers

Minimum 1-year Grill Cook experience

Strong attention to detail and professional maturity

Previous experience in food preparation (preferred).

Determines types and quantities of meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared by reviewing planned menus.

Ensures meals are ready at specified times.

Consults Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.

Measures and mixes ingredients according to approved recipes, using blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers, etc.

Determines amounts of foods needed to meet weekly menus and submits the order to the supervisor.

You will develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry)

You will have the opportunity to experience using knives and various kitchen equipment

1-3 years previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment

Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it

May oversee the cooking activities of food service associates as assigned by Food Service Director.

Prepares various entrees and menu items following established recipes.

Operates and cleans equipment after each use. Performs scheduled routine cleaning.

Stores, labels and dates food items according to policy. Helps maintain organized storage of dry goods and refrigerated and frozen products.

Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Recent cooking (within the last three (3) years) experience in a healthcare setting

3- 5 years of high volume industrial culinary experience
