Ophthalmic Assistant – Saturday Only Jobs in Iowa

Interviews patients for ocular and medical history, chief complaint, current medications, allergies and family history.

Performs initial work up including visual testing, color vision testing, retinoscopy, and refraction.

Performs various diagnostic tests and measurements including A-Scans, diagnostic ultrasounds, keratometry, lensometry, tonometry, and visual fields.

Reviews patient records for completeness.

Maintains supplies and equipment in examining rooms.

Performs related technical and clerical work

Demonstrated customer service skills, customer focus abilities and the ability to understand Kaiser Permanente customer needs.

Position prefers six (6) months to one (1) year of previous experience as a Certified Opthalmic Aassistant.

Scribes pertinent medical findings, assessment and plan, as dictated by eye care provider.

High school graduation or equivalent.

Current hours have shifts scheduled between 7A-6P Mon-Fri clinic hours may change to accommodate additional times and days listed elsewhere

High School diploma/GED plus 1 year of ophthalmic/optometric assisting or experience in a medical setting required.
