Overview Operating Room Technicians are responsible for providing technical support to surgeons and other medical personnel during surgical procedures. They assist with the setup and maintenance of the operating room, prepare and maintain surgical instruments and supplies, and ensure that the operating room is clean and sterile. Detailed Job Description Operating Room Technicians are responsible for providing technical support to surgeons and other medical personnel during surgical procedures. They assist with the setup and maintenance of the operating room, prepare and maintain surgical instruments and supplies, and ensure that the operating room is clean and sterile. They also assist with patient preparation and positioning, and may be required to help with the transport of patients to and from the operating room. Operating Room Technicians must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Knowledge of operating room equipment and supplies

Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician program
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Current CPR certification

• Assist with the administration of anesthesia

• Assist with the closure of incisions and suturing
