Online Academic Advisor Jobs

Working knowledge of computer applications is required; previous experience working with college technologies including Colleague, Student Planning, and Microsoft Sharepoint preferred.

Assists students in developing skills and strategies for academic and personal success. Encourages students to utilize tutoring and other support services.

Experience with non-traditional student populations (adult, transfer, etc.)

Ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills to be effective in a fast paced environment.

A Master’s degree is required; preferably in student development, educational leadership, higher education, counseling, or related field.

Maintains all required paperwork and data entry for the online Management program in an accurate, confidential, and timely manner.

Performs other duties as assigned by Dean and Management Department Head to support university and online Management program processes.

2 years of experience in student services at a higher education institution

Experience working in a distance learning environment is highly preferred.

Three years’ experience in customer service, customer tracking, forms processing, and reporting is preferred.

Serves as the point of contact for/between prospective applied, admitted, and registered students and key student support units on campus.

Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.

3 years of experience in education related field preferred but not required.

Working knowledge of all university resources and recognize when to utilize them to best support HCU Online students.

Communicate all admissions, academic, and administrative policies advising the student on necessary next steps.

Assist students in setting short-term goals and follow-up with students.

Provide creative approaches to student retention and support.

3+ years’ teaching experience (creative writing/academic writing/critical thinking)

Compassion, understanding, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

2. Designs appropriate curriculum and instruction based on the given lesson outline by TOPS.

3. Develops and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies.

5. Grades lesson assignments and provide feedback·

Graduates of Top30 US universities/liberal art colleges

Assist with the management of the Academic Records email inbox and process incoming requests from students, faculty, and staff.

Manage registration for new and returning online undergraduate students.

Visual Abilities: read reports, create presentations and use a computer system.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to handle a variety of student issues and concerns.

Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with Higher Education Administration policies and processes preferred.

Familiar with Higher Education and Learning Management Systems

Knowledge and Abilities: Required competencies, proficiencies, specialized knowledge, technology skills, etc.

Ability to use a personal computer and Internet experience essential. Capable to work remote web media for remote communications and presentations.

Assist students with setting and maintaining personal and educational goals.

Guide students who may be having academic difficulty utilizing Educational Advisory Board (EAB) Software.

Monitor students’ progress toward degree each semester to ensure satisfactory grades and GPA requirements.
