Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise

Follow instructions for specific requests from customers, while maintaining safety requirements

Train associates on the proper use and basic knowledge of merchandise

Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings as directed

Assists in operations of McLeod Activity Center for Kids.

Provides supervision and safety to youth during activities.

Assists in planning activities and implementation of additional programs.

Maintains high level of professionalism and customer service at all times.

Reports all problems, unsafe situations, unruly children and equipment failures directly to Youth Fitness Director.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

· Trail construction & maintenance

· Stream bank stabilization, erosion control

· Plant or animal surveying

· Commitment to upholding Corps values of safety, service, respect, equity, and community

· Dedication to complete the full term of AmeriCorps service

· Ability to perform the Essential Service Functions, which include but are not limited to:

Write a final report on the Youth Summer Outreach experience.

Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred.

College course work in Education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred.

Knowledge of safety principles and practices as they apply to group activities.

Knowledge of a variety of literacy activities and group games.

Interacts critically and constructively with staff members to develop and implement successful treatment techniques.

Keeps staff informed of significant behavioral conditions known about an individual and/or the group.

Ability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime; and the ability to respond to crises situations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience facilitating and/or organizing youth activities and programming

Engaging in cultural/community organizing, planning events, and/or youth entrepreneurship

Strong passion for creating positive social change in our community

Minimum of 21 years old and valid AZ driver’s license

Dependable vehicle with proof of current registration and valid insurance.

Displays enthusiasm and promotes a friendly group environment

Effectively communicates to groups of 15-22 youth

Passion for cultivating the full potential of others

Demonstrate humility, respect and positivity

Help with classroom management, assist in chaperoning field trips.

You will co-develop arts, recreational, and educational activities for peers.

Create an end of summer group project for community showcase. Assist with front desk assistant and data entry.

Responsible, punctual, know how to manage their time appropriately.

Assist in day-to-day operations of the Youth Center.

Childcare Assistant assist Group Leaders in implementation of age-appropriate activities for children.
