Physical Requirements Include, Among Others:

Current USCG license, Oiler/QMED (minimum), Assistant Engineer (preferred)

License endorsements must list endorsements specific to STCW (III/1 and/or III/4, III/5, VI/1-VI/4), Applicable Domestic endorsements and lifeboatman

Valid USCG medical certificate (STCW) required

Capable of prolonged, strenuous work onboard vessels at sea

Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.).

Knowledgeable on both oil and grease lubricants.

Knowledgeable on greasing procedures for bearings.

2 (two) years of experience (unless coming in as a Trainee).

Must adhere to all safety policies and standards.

Must adhere to all HR policies and standards.

Performs routine operation tasks with fueling and lubricating equipment such as hooking up hoses, cleaning, assisting with fuel transfers operations

Performs regular checks and visual inspections of equipment (engines, motors, pumps, batteries, gauges and valves)

Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.

Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.

Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water

Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites

Mechanical knowledge usually obtained through a 2-year post-secondary degree

Working knowledge of construction equipment maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, emissions, diesel, gasoline, and record-keeping systems

All full-time, non-union employees are eligible for the following benefits (including full-time interns; part-time interns are excluded) 

Performs greasing, oil changing, and fueling

Assists mechanic with repairs, including performing minor repairs un-assisted

Reads and follows oil charts

Prefer Oiler experience on similar vessel.

Performs general duties, including wiping oil; maintaining tools; and cleaning, preparing, and painting of machinery, equipment, and related spaces.

Lubricates moving parts of propulsion engines and auxiliary equipment. Pumps bilges, and cleans strainers, filters, and centrifuges

Checks, during scheduled rounds, the proper operation of machinery; maintains proper temperatures and pressures; and records data in engineering log.

Keeps a log of all watch operations and conditions, including unusual occurrences and emergency signals.

May stand engine room watch, and generator watch in port.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience and/or training in a sawmill environment.

Works to develop the skills necessary to assist in the duties of a Millwright.

Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

Inspects and tests machinery and equipment for appropriate oiling;

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery;

Follows all lockout / tagout procedures;

Knowledge of heavy equipment and non-mobile/or light duty vehicles preventative maintenance.

North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed

Petrochemical, oilfield, or arctic experience preferred.

Verify and perform any necessary preventive maintenance on all heavy and non-mobile equipment and/or light duty vehicles.

Inspect equipment belts, hoses, and leaks.

Coordinates repairs needed with shop foreman and will make minor repairs/adjustments.

Must have at least four (4) years of power plant operation.

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Ability to read, write and follow written instructions.

Gathers information from a walk around inspection and reports to customer/management.

Assists lead to analyze customer requirements and determine the scope of the job.

Travels to remote locations as needed.

Must be able to comply with DOT CDL requirements.

Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

High school education and/or equivalent such as a GED.

Knowledge to accurately read gauges for oil, fuel, and water levels, temperatures, and pressures.

Knowledge of USCG, ABS, and University safety regulations and standards.
