Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry Inpatient Jobs in Iowa

PA/NP: Job experience preferred but not required

PA: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master's degree preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.

General computer skills are required.

Previous RN experience in a Psychiatric Hospital Unit.

Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness

Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions

General computer skills are required

Knowledge of university and hospital policies and procedures is desired

Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Completes orientation program and participates in learning activities to maintain and improve knowledge skills.

Carries out responsibilities following safety guidelines for self, patient, visitors and employees.

May provide break relief or assistance to the unit clerk as needed and if applicable.

Uses the computerized electronic health record in accordance with job requirements and hospital policies and procedures.

Ability to be patient and courteous and use active listening skills.

Other duties as assigned by management and as essential.

Discusses adverse determination with the company Utilization Review Manager/Supervisor, Medical Advisor, Hospital Coordinator or Treating

Identifies assigned enrollees from the hospital census and enrolls them in the Inpatient Clinical Program.

Documents the clinical review of each audit in the electronic system, meeting established quality standards.

Performs Admission Assessment of all assigned patients during the first 72 working hours of admission to the hospital.

Program with a multidisciplinary team.
