They are also responsible for the security of the network, ensuring that all systems are secure and up to date. They must also be able to configure and troubleshoot network services such as DHCP, DNS, and other protocols. Network Service Administrators must have a strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP. They must also have a good understanding of network security principles and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
