The RN Monitored Overflow Step Down Unit is responsible for providing care to patients who require a higher level of monitoring than a traditional step down unit. The RN must be able to recognize and respond to changes in the patient’s condition. The RN must also be able to administer medications, provide patient education, and monitor the patient’s vital signs. The RN must also be able to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
