The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

Millwright training schools a plus (seal, vibration analysis, alignment training).

Replace mechanical seals, align equipment and troubleshoot problems in various rotating equipment.

Pumps, turbines, compressors, fans and gearboxes, replace mechanical seals and align equipment, troubleshoot rotating equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) Certification for Journeyman Industrial Millwright.

Must have experience with industrial machinery installation, repair and maintenance of Power Generation machines and equipment.

Must have experience using industrial hand tools and power tools.

Minimum 4-5 years industrial construction/maintenance experience

Minimum of 3 years Millwright experience in Power Generation Plants

Strong time management, organization and prioritizing skills.

Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Expert knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance functions.

Expert knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools.

5 – 7 years’ general maintenance experience required.

Perform complex preventative and predictive maintenance functions.

3+ years of experience as a Millwright

Experience reading and working from blueprints, sketches and plans

Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and related equipment

Lock out, tag out and try out in order to prevent injuries when working on or around machinery

Moving of machinery, equipment, flag poles, stacks, etc.

Perform demolition projects (e.g., concrete walls, floors, small structures) using track hoe, jackhammer and/or concrete saw, as required

Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

Four-year apprenticeship program certified by Department of Labour, or 5 years direct experience as a Millwright

Good written and verbal communication skills

Excellent coaching, mentoring, mediating, and negotiating skills

Help to align machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, squares, ruler, micrometers, and plumb bobs

Assist to repair any problems associated with new equipment

Excellent time management and problem solving skills

Thorough knowledge of load bearing capabilities of the equipment to be installed, assembled, or dismembered

Four-year apprenticeship program certified by Department of Labour, or 5 years direct experience as a Millwright

Licensed journeyman, or class “A” certification

Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of machinery and equipment

Good written and verbal communication skills

Serve as resident expert for all rigging needs and lifting requirements in the Evonik plant.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Working knowledge of vibration tools and analysis to provide feedback and recommendations to Maintenance Supervisor for early detection.

NCCER (National Center for Construction Education Research) certified Millwright.

Successful completion of Rigging Certification through NCCER within twelve months of accepting Millwright position with Evonik, if not already certified.

Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in the Millwright craft within the petrochemical industry preferred.
