Job Description of Medical Assistant Weatherford The Medical Assistant Weatherford is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to the medical staff in a medical office setting. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with minor procedures. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining patient records, filing, and other administrative duties as assigned. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to take vital signs
• Ability to perform basic laboratory tests
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent
• Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
• CPR certification preferred
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
• Knowledge of medical equipment
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Job Experience
• Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
• Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
Job Responsibilities
• Greet patients and schedule appointments
• Take vital signs and perform basic laboratory tests
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with minor procedures
• Maintain patient records, filing, and other administrative duties
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
• Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Assist with other duties as assigned
