Overview Medical Technologists, also known as Clinical Laboratory Technologists, are responsible for performing complex laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They analyze body fluids, tissue samples, and other substances to determine the presence of normal or abnormal components. Medical Technologists work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. Detailed Job Description Medical Technologists are responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They analyze body fluids, tissue samples, and other substances to determine the presence of normal or abnormal components. Medical Technologists must be able to accurately interpret and record results, as well as maintain accurate records of all tests performed. They must also be able to troubleshoot any problems that may arise during the testing process. Medical Technologists must be able to work independently, as well as in a team setting. Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
• Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment
• Ability to accurately interpret and record results
• Ability to troubleshoot any problems that may arise during the testing process
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures

Job Knowledge
Medical Technologists must have a thorough knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment. They must also have a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Medical Technologists must also have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as medical terminology.
Job Experience
