Overview Med Assist is a medical assistant position that provides support to medical professionals in a variety of healthcare settings. The role of a Med Assist is to provide administrative and clinical support to medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Med Assist is responsible for a variety of tasks, such as scheduling appointments, taking patient histories, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with medical procedures. Detailed Job DescriptionThe Med Assist job description includes a variety of tasks, such as:
• Scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
• Taking patient histories and vital signs
• Preparing exam rooms and assisting with medical procedures
• Administering medications and injections
• Assisting with laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures
• Collecting and processing specimens
• Assisting with patient education
• Maintaining medical equipment and supplies
• Performing clerical duties, such as filing and data entry
Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of medical office procedures
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical assistant program or certification
• Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred
• CPR certification
