Ensures adequate stock of raw material in steel yard for present and future demands.
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Loads and unloads materials using fork truck, cranes or by hand, onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.
Supply plate shop with material from steel yard and return all excess to either stock or scrap as good judgment dictates.
