Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rates, blood pressures, weights, heights, and intake-output measurements.
Encourage residents to turn, cough, and take deep breaths and to use incentive spirometry as specified by Plan of Care.
Ambulate, and assist residents in and out of bed, into wheelchairs and transport when necessary.
Attends to nutritional needs of residents’ which may include distributing meal trays, feeding, filling and passing out water pitchers.

Overview:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The CNA will assist with activities of daily living, provide personal care, and observe and report changes in the patient’s condition.

Detailed Job Description:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
• Assist with ambulation and exercise
• Provide emotional support to patients and families
• Perform light housekeeping duties in patient rooms
• Document patient care services
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Report any changes in the patient’s condition to the nurse
